Shop for a Cause at Orchard Nursery’s Lazy K Gift Shop
On October 13th, 2025, we partnered with Orchard Nursery’s Lazy K Gift Shop for a special day of community giving in honor of Liver Awareness Month. Customers were invited to “shop with a purpose,” with 10% of all proceeds from the day going directly toward funding vital liver research.
Located in the heart of Lafayette, Orchard Nursery provided the perfect backdrop for this meaningful collaboration, bringing together neighbors, friends, and supporters in a celebration of local business and collective impact. From unique home décor to thoughtful gifts, every purchase helped advance research on artificial livers and liver support systems, innovations that hold immense promise for those living with autoimmune hepatitis.

Global Liver Institute's 2025 Advanced Advocacy Academy
This year, we were honored to participate in the Global Liver Institute’s Advanced Advocacy Academy (A3) in Washington, D.C. This transformative four-day program is designed to empower patients, caregivers, and advocates with the tools to drive meaningful change in liver health.
Throughout the program, we joined fellow advocates in gaining knowledge and practical skills to amplify our voices on behalf of those living with liver disease. The sessions provided invaluable training in advocacy, storytelling, and policy engagement, helping us grow in confidence and preparation to champion our mission at the national level.
The culmination of the experience was Hill Day, where A3 participants put advocacy into action. Together, we met with 51 Congressional offices to highlight urgent needs in liver health, including early diagnosis of liver cancer through multi-cancer screenings, medical nutrition equity, preventive services for obesity, expanded access to clinical lab services, and policies supporting living donors.
We are deeply grateful to the Global Liver Institute for creating this powerful platform that unites and equips liver advocates from across the country. By coming together to share knowledge and raise our collective voice, we are helping to shape a future where liver patients and their families have greater access to life-saving care and hope for better outcomes.
Poker Tournament
Hosted by Blue Dog Events
On April 12th, 2025, we hosted an unforgettable evening of fun, food, and philanthropy! Guests came together for a professionally run poker tournament, a delicious dinner, and the opportunity to connect with others who are passionate about making a difference.
In addition to the tournament, the evening featured an exciting live auction with incredible items up for bid, including a signed Stephen Curry basketball, a signed Draymond Green jersey, and a one-week stay at a beautiful private home in Costa Rica. The energy in the room was inspiring, and the generosity of our attendees was overwhelming.
Thanks to the support of everyone who participated, we raised over $20,000 to fund cutting-edge research on artificial livers and liver support systems. These advancements hold immense promise in the fight to find a cure for autoimmune hepatitis, and we are so proud to have taken this important step forward together.
We are deeply grateful to all who attended, donated, volunteered, and helped bring this special night to life. Your compassion and commitment continue to fuel our mission and bring hope to those affected by this condition.
2024 Liver Meeting:
Honoring Excellence
We were fortunate to attend the 2024 Liver Meeting, hosted by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), where we had the privilege of witnessing the Awards and Honors Ceremony and Reception.
This inspiring event recognized the incredible achievements of the AASLD Foundation's award recipients, their generous donors, and the outstanding contributions of AASLD’s esteemed fellows, associate fellows, and distinguished awardees.
It was an honor to be surrounded by leading experts in the field of liver health and to witness the recognition of those who are driving innovation in liver disease research. Thank you to AASLD for your continued leadership in advancing the science of liver disease and for the opportunity to be a part of this important celebration.
